But which ones Alfa Romeo Brenner (or BrennĂ©ro, in French)! Furthermore, “it’s now official: Alfa Romeo’s compact SUV will be called the Brennero.” Tom there fantasies and inventions that started in the last days from the web and social media. Well, listen, listen: “baby Alfa Romeo”, the first B-SUV from Biscione, will bear the name of the city where the legend of one of the most famous brands in the world and the absolute pride of our country was born: “Milan”. Yes, Alfa Romeo Milano, in honor of the Lombard metropolis. Mayor Beppe Sala will be “joyful” because the name of the city will soon go around the world not only for the Quadrilatero of fashion, luxury, La Scala, museums, monuments, football, basketball and winter games. But ironically also because the car will act as another ambassador. In addition, the debut has already been set for next April 2024 under Madonna, with a fully electric and red model (think Alfa Romeo red).

The surprising announcement arrived the other evening, apparently in the heart of Milan, at the Galleria d’Italia in Piazza della Scala, a stone’s throw from the house where Alessandro Manzoni wrote “The Betrothed”. The fact that Jean-Philippe Learnato, the general manager of Alfa Romeo in Stellantis, chose the heart of the metropolis – and not the Areso Museum or Turin – to exchange Christmas greetings already foreshadowed a lot. And so it was.
“With the arrival of Milan in 2024 – explained the Italian-French manager, whose father always had the Alfa Romeo brand in his heart – we are completing a range capable of fulfilling the desires of all our enthusiasts and beyond Milan wants to symbolically welcome back all our Alfisti who, Giulietta and Mito owners , were waiting for confirmation of their love for the brand; and we welcome all those looking for a unique sporting experience in this segment and the distinct beauty of Italian design.
The Alfa Romeo Milano will be produced in Poland, at the former FCA plant in Tychy, on the same platform as the Jeep Avenger and the Fiat 600. After the electric version, the Milan range will expand to include a hybrid; later, in light of market trends, probably more.
Since 1910, the Alfa Romeo logo consists of a cross, the historical symbol of the Lombard capital, and the Biscione, the coat of arms of the noble Visconti family. In addition, for more than 60 years (from 1910 to 1972), the name of the city itself, which occupied the lower part, was an integral part of the logo. And until 1918 accompanied by the abbreviation “ALFA” (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili), while from 1919 only “Alfa Romeo”.
At this point, the “children’s SUV Alfa Romeo” will have to start a new important chapter in its history. The mission: to rethink sports behavior in the 21st century.
