Generali Assicurazioni has launched the placement of a new dual tranche of the green bond. This is a senior bond loan with a maturity of 5 and 10 years in the maximum amount, which after adding two different tranches should be 1.25 billion euros. The yield is 65 basis points on the midswap curve for the short tranche and 95 basis points for the 10-year tranche. Total orders exceeded 2 billion euros.

Who posts the bond

The placement was entrusted to Deutsche Bank, which holds the role of structuring coordinator and global coordinator, and Mediobanca as joint active bookrunner, as well as BofA, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Imi – Intesa Sanpaolo, Ing and Société Générale.

There are already six green bonds on the market

Generali already has six green bonds on the market with maturities between October 2030 and September 2033. The latest placement in September 2023 was closed by cashing orders for 1.1 billion euros (twice the offer) from around 180 international institutional investors.

Generali shares are falling on the stock market

At 11:30 on Monday, January 8, 2024, Generali Assicurazioni shares were trading at €19.7, down 0.3%, on Piazza Affari. However, the group’s shares have gained nearly 3% over the past month, up more than 13% on a year-to-date basis. (All rights reserved)
