AGI – Again strong wind in the south Yellow warning in 8 regions A large depression affecting the peninsula will tend to move eastwards from the Tyrrhenian Sea tomorrow, still bringing intense winds from the western quadrants to the southernmost regions.

Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection, in agreement with the participating regions, which is responsible for the activation of civil protection systems in the affected territories, issued a notice of adverse weather conditions which extends the previous ones.

The warning foresees the persistence of strong winds from the western quadrants with gale force gusts or strong gales over Sicily and Calabria. Strong storms are expected along exposed coasts. Based on the expected events, it was evaluated for tomorrow yellow alert in Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, Campania, Molise, Abruzzo and parts of Sardinia and Emilia-Romagna.

In Sardinia, a yellow code alert (normal criticality) for hydrogeological risk applies to the areas of Iglesiente, Montevecchio Pischinappiu, Tirso and Logudoro.

Tomorrow is expected to:

– In the north: In the morning occasional precipitation with snow from 900 to 1200 meters in the mountains. Afternoon phenomena only in northwestern areas and Emilia Romagna, snow still at 900-1000 meters. In the evening and at night residual precipitation in Piedmont, Liguria and the northern Apennines with snow from 1100 meters; elsewhere dry with many clouds. Minimum and maximum temperatures stable or decreasing. Moderate to strong winds from the northeast quadrants. Very rough or rough seas.

– In the center: In the morning, light and scattered precipitation over the Tyrrhenian regions and Marche, with cloudy skies. No significant changes are expected in the afternoon. Between the evening and the night there will be widespread precipitation, in the Apennines in central locations, snow. Minimum and maximum temperatures are decreasing. Light wind with variable direction. Seas from slightly rough to very rough.

– In the south and on the islands: Scattered rain in all areas in the morning, intense in areas of the Tyrrhenian Peninsula. No changes are expected in the afternoon. Widespread poor weather conditions resumed in the evening and overnight with scattered rain and thunderstorms; snow in the Apennines from 1200-1300 meters. The minimum and maximum temperatures are decreasing. Strong wind from the western quadrants. Very rough or rough seas.
