STMicroelectronics, a semiconductor group, is introducing a new organization effective February 5, 2024 that intends to strengthen innovation and efficiency in product development, time-to-market and focus on end-market customers. “We are reorganizing product groups to further accelerate time to market and speed of innovation and efficiency in product development,” comments CEO and President Jean-Marc Chery. “It will allow us to derive more value from our broad and unique portfolio of products and technologies. In addition, we are moving closer to our customers through an end-applications marketing organization that will increase our ability to complement our product offering with complete system solutions. This is an important step in the development of our consolidated strategy in line with our value proposition for all stakeholders and with the business and financial ambitions we have set for 2022.”

STM goes from three to two product groups

STM thus moves from three to two product groups: Analog, Power & Discrete, Mems and Sensors (Apms), led by Marco Cassis, president and member of the executive committee, and Microcontrollers, Digital ICs and RF products (Mdrf), led by Remi El-Ouazzane , president and member of the executive committee. With this new organization, Marco Monti, president of ST’s Automotive and Discrete Product Group, will leave the company.

Apms will include all ST analog products, including Smart Power solutions for the automotive industry, all ST Power & Discrete product lines including Silicon Carbide (SiC), Mems and Sensor products. The results will be published in two Apms segments: Analog Products, Mems and Sensors (AM&S) and Power and Discrete Products (P&D). The second group, Mdrf, will include all digital integrated circuits (ICs) and ST microcontrollers, including automotive microcontrollers, RF ICs, Adas, Infotainment. MDRF will publish results from Microcontrollers (MCU) and Digital Integrated Circuits and RF Products (D&RF).

A new marketing organization focused on the target market

To complement the existing sales and marketing organization, a new end-market application marketing organization will be implemented in all ST regions. This new organization will provide ST customers with comprehensive system solutions based on Stm’s portfolio of products and technologies. The company is establishing an end-use marketing organization in all ST regions that will be part of the sales and marketing organization led by Jerome Roux, president and member of the executive committee. The application marketing organization will cover the following four end markets: automotive, industrial power and energy, industrial automation, IoT and artificial intelligence, personal electronics, communication devices and computer peripherals. The current regional sales and marketing organization remains unchanged.
