[ad_1]

According to Elon Musk, Tesla Model 2 it will be a real revolution in the automotive environment. This compact electric car already seems destined to become one of the best-selling electric cars, thanks to its extremely affordable purchase conditions. According to previews, the model will be available for just 25,000 euros, making it one of the cheapest offerings in the Western world. Few other cars are better priced than the Dacia Spring on sale for around 21,000 euros.

It is followed by the Renault Twingo at a price of around 22,000 euros and the Citroen e-C3 at 23,900 euros (without bonuses and promotions). A recent presentation of the Citroen model highlighted its particularly favorable purchase conditions, despite being manufactured in Europe. The automaker has managed to keep production costs under control, and it is expected that an entry-level version will hit the market within two years at a price of 20,000 euros. The Volkswagen ID.2 is also expected to debut in 2025, with a similar price tag of around €25,000, in line with the Tesla Model 2.

Tesla Model 2: rendering by SRK Design

The American automaker’s move has been much discussed, until now it was mainly associated with premium models. But Musk’s ambitions in the sector are known, and entering the city car segment could mean an increase in the catchment area. It has engaged in a kind of price war since early 2023, a strategy that is still ongoing, although the overall picture is not yet clear. According to several auto industry experts, Musk’s idea to offer competitively priced vehicles could include features like Autopilot and Full-Self Driving as paid extras.

However, these predictions may be premature. In the meantime, it is interesting to imagine the style of the Tesla Model 2, which will be produced at the Gigafactory in Shanghai, the same plant where the Model 3 (which has just undergone a restyling) and the Model Y, a candidate for the best seller this year. Adding the Model 2 to production plans could be a big help in meeting the company’s production goals. Work is currently underway to expand the plant, which is capable of assembling a car in just 40 seconds. As for the exterior, I refer to the interesting rendering created by SRK Design: if it were close to reality, would it tickle your fancy?
